Social Media Comments Makes Social Media Social
Social media comments is the one thing that gives social media its name. If you are on any given social media platform of your choice and you are going through your wall and happen to see something that you like, do you just go ahead and press that like button and move on? We know that we have done it, and chances are that you have too. Everyone has!
We are all social creatures in this world and social media should be no different. Some use it for work and business, some just for keeping in touch with friends and acquaintances. Either way, through conditioning or some other strange reason we have become adept at doing the bare minimum even on social platforms.
If you are out in public and someone shows you a picture of their child, what would you do? Would you look at them and just say “cool”? No! Than would similar to just hitting the like button wouldn’t it? Some would even consider not showing you a picture of their kid again, because honestly it is almost rude to not comment on it or at least acknowledge that their kid was cute.
Socially speaking, even if you are not a “social creature” so to speak, communication is still what makes things happen in the world. We solve problems, express emotion, make friends and enemies all through being human beings in a social world.
Remember that when you are using social media that it is like being in the community our out in public. the only difference is that your words come through a little bit differently. So when you are commenting just keep in mind that with written words you can not reach all of the senses. There is no body language to read and no inflection to go off of. Choose your words wisely and be yourself at the same time. Stay social no matter where you are at.
